Cantorion Creigiau released a new CD, Unwaith Eto (Once Again), to coincide with celebrations marking 35 years together as a choir.

The CD, the choir's second for Caernarfon based record label Sain, contains 16 tracks, sung in English, Welsh and Italian, many of them commissioned especially for the disc.

Unwaith Eto (Sain £12.98, but being sold as a special offer from the choir at an unbelievable £10.00) was recorded at St Augustine’s Church in Penarth and Bethel Chapel in Pontyclun. It includes a number of tracks especially written for the choir by well-known composers including Peter Teague and Eric Jones. The CD also includes a number of new arrangements by Ferndale-based Bryan Davies and Darren Bartlett. In fact, Bryan joins forces with the choir’s talented accompanist Helen Watkinson on one of the tracks, In Excelsis Gloria Deo.

Mair Roberts, the choir’s conductor and soloist since 1970, said, "I am very proud of this recording, which is not only a fitting tribute to the commitment of the whole choir since its formation, but also to the talented composers and musicians we have collaborated with over the years.

“I believe the CD contains something for everyone from old favourites, such as The Bare Necessities to new classics such as Caryl Parry Jones’ Santa Lucia. A number of the tracks mean a great deal to me, including Ti, O Dduw, which was commissioned in memory of my late mother, Glenys H. Roberts."
